The Sumerians called themselves “the black heads,” distinguishing themselves from the Akkadians to the north, the Sumerians seeing their land unique, that kingship descended at Kish in Sumer, named after Kush, a son of Ham, in the aftermath of the global flood.

So if Ham and/or his wife were not of dark color, then that trait ‘though within their combined gene pools came forth with Kush for sure, his people also having moved down to Africa, and his son Ramah to India, darkness having been a favorable trait those equatorial climates.
